How many kayaks does one person need?

Three. No more, no less.

Folbots at Tomales Bay

Folbots at Tomales Bay

I really want that fourth one, though. I met a fellow at Tomales bay who said he had six. He said the answer to the above question was, “Just one more.” I wonder if he is up to seven kayaks yet.

Here are my three, in the family photo above. They are all Folbots – Kodiak, Aleut, and Kiawah, respectively. Folding Kayaks are the way to go for humble apartment dwellers like myself. Although by now, I am sufficiently sold on folding kayaks that I will stick with them even when I settle down into a house. People always ask why I have three kayaks. I usually tell them the other two are for guests, and that they are all different (which is true). It’s easier than trying to explain the weird compulsion to buy additional kayaks.
